五加皮 오가피 (오가피)

  1. 性溫一云微寒, 味辛苦, 無毒.

    성온일운미한, 미신고, 무독.

    Its nature is warm, though some say slightly cold; the taste is pungent and bitter, and it has no toxicity.

  2. 補五勞七傷, 益氣添精, 堅筋骨, 强志意.

    보오로칠상, 익기첨정, 견근골, 강지의.

    It replenishes the five exhaustions and seven injuries, boosts qi and essence, strengthens sinews and bones, and fortifies the will.

  3. 男子陰痿, 女子陰痒,

    남자음위, 여자음양,

    It is used for impotence in men and genital itching in women.

  4. 療腰脊痛, 兩脚疼痺, 骨節攣急, 痿躄,

    요요척통, 양각동비, 골절련급, 위벽,

    It treats pain in the lower back and spine, aching and numbness in both legs, stiffness and cramping of the joints, and weakness that makes walking difficult.

  5. 小兒三歲不能行, 服此便行走.

    소아삼세불능행, 복차변행주.

    Even a child who cannot walk by the age of three is said to begin walking after taking it.

  6. 生山野, 樹生小叢, 莖間有刺.

    생산야, 수생소총, 경간유자.

    It grows in mountains and fields, forming small shrubby clusters with thorns scattered along the stems.

  7. 五葉生枝端, 如桃花, 有香氣.

    오엽생지단, 여도화, 유향기.

    Five leaves cluster at the tips of the branches, resembling peach blossoms and giving off a fragrant scent.

  8. 三四月開白花, 結細靑子, 至六月漸黑色.

    삼사월개백화, 결세청자, 지유월점흑색.

    It blooms with white flowers in the third and fourth months, bears small green fruits, and these gradually turn black by the sixth month.

  9. 根若荊根, 皮黃黑, 肉白, 骨硬.

    근약형근, 피황흑, 육백, 골경.

    The root resembles that of the chastetree, with yellowish-black bark, white inner flesh, and a hard core.

  10. 五月七月採莖, 十月採根, 陰乾. 《本草》

    오월칠월채경, 시월채근, 음건. 《본초》

    The stems are gathered in the fifth and seventh months, the roots in the tenth, and both are dried in the shade. From the Bencao.

  11. 上應五車星精而生, 故葉五出者佳.

    상응오거성정이생, 고엽오출자가.

    It is said to grow in response to the essence of the Five-Chariot stars above, so plants whose leaves divide into five are considered the finest.

  12. 延年不老, 仙經藥也. 《入門》

    연년불로, 선경약야. 《입문》

    It prolongs life and wards off aging, a remedy recorded in the scriptures of the immortals. From the Ipmun.
