성한, 미감일운고, 무독.
Cold in nature, sweet in taste (some say bitter), and non-toxic.

止咳逆上氣, 除煩熱, 止消渴, 壓丹石毒.
지해역상기, 제번열, 지소갈, 압단석독.
It calms reverse-rising cough, clears vexing heat, relieves wasting thirst, and suppresses the toxicity of mineral elixirs.

It treats wind-induced spasms, sore throat obstruction, and vomiting.

There are three kinds of bamboo: big bamboo, sweet (pale) bamboo, and bitter bamboo.

Big bamboo has a round, sturdy stem; large ones suit boat poles, slender ones can be made into flutes.
