石韋 석위 (석위)

  1. 性平一云微寒, 味苦甘, 無毒.

    성평일운미한, 미고감, 무독.

    Its nature is neutral, though some say slightly cold; the taste is bitter and sweet, and it is non-toxic.

  2. 治五淋, 胞囊結熱不通, 膀胱熱滿, 淋瀝遺尿, 利小便水道.

    치오림, 포낭결열불통, 방광열만, 임력유뇨, 이소변수도.

    It treats the five types of urinary disorders, heat-bound obstruction of the bladder, fullness of bladder heat, dribbling urination and incontinence, and it opens the waterways for smooth urination.

  3. 叢生石上, 葉如皮, 故名石韋.

    총생석상, 엽여피, 고명석위.

    It grows in clusters on rocks, and because its leaves are tough like leather, it is named seogwi, the leather of the stone.

  4. 又云, 葉生斑點如皮, 以不聞水聲及人聲者, 爲良.

    우운, 엽생반점여피, 이불문수성급인성자, 위량.

    It is also said that the leaves bear leather-like spots, and those grown where neither the sound of water nor of people can be heard are considered the finest.

  5. 二月七月採葉, 陰乾.

    이월칠월채엽, 음건.

    The leaves are gathered in the second and seventh lunar months and dried in the shade.

  6. 入藥須灸用, 刷去黃毛, 毛射人肺, 令人咳.

    입약수구용, 쇄거황모, 모사인폐, 영인해.

    When used as medicine it must first be lightly roasted and the yellow hairs brushed off, for those hairs irritate the lungs and cause coughing.

  8. 瓦韋

    와위

    A related herb called wawi, the tile leather, is also introduced.

  9. 生古瓦屋上.

    생고와옥상.

    It grows on the tiled roofs of old houses.

  10. 療淋亦好.

    요림역호.

    It also works well for treating urinary disorders.
