酢漿草 괴승아 (초장초)

1. 性寒, 味酸, 無毒.

   성한, 미산, 무독.

   Its nature is cold, its taste sour, and it is non-toxic, with a cooling and thirst-quenching quality.

2. 主惡瘡瘑瘻.

   주악창과루.

   It treats malignant sores, stubborn ulcers, and fistulous lesions, traditionally applied as a poultice to the affected area.

3. 殺諸小蟲.

   살제소충.

   It kills various small parasites, and was widely used for itching caused by scabies or skin-dwelling pests.

4. 處處有之, 生下濕地.

   처처유지, 생하습지.

   It grows everywhere, favoring low, damp ground, and is easily found along roadsides, field edges, and beneath walls.

5. 小兒食之, 俗名酸車草. 《本草》

   소아식지, 속명산거초. 《본초》

   Children often pick and chew its leaves, and it is commonly called sangeocho for its sour taste, as recorded in the Bencao.
