玄胡索 현호색 (현호색)

  1. 性溫, 味辛一云苦, 無毒.

    성온, 미신일운고, 무독.

    Its nature is warm and the taste is pungent, though some say bitter. It has no toxicity.

  2. 主産後諸病因血所爲者.

    주산후제병인혈소위자.

    It is mainly used to treat various postpartum disorders caused by blood stasis.

  3. 治月經不調, 腹中結塊, 崩中淋露, 産後血暈.

    치월경부조, 복중결괴, 붕중임로, 산후혈훈.

    It treats irregular menstruation, abdominal lumps, persistent uterine bleeding, and postpartum dizziness.

  4. 消撲損瘀血, 落胎, 破癥癖, 破血.

    소박손어혈, 낙태, 파징벽, 파혈.

    It dissolves blood stasis from bruises, expels a dead fetus, and breaks up chronic masses and clotted blood.

  5. 治氣, 治心痛, 小腹痛如神.

    치기, 치심통, 소복통여신.

    It regulates qi and works wonders on chest pain and lower abdominal pain.

  6. 在處有之. 根如半夏, 色黃. 《本草》

    재처유지. 근여반하, 색황. 《본초》

    It grows in many places; the root resembles pinellia and is yellow in color. From the Bencao.

  7. 入手足太陰ㆍ足厥陰經. 醋煮用之. 《入門》

    입수족태음·족궐음경. 초자용지. 《입문》

    It enters the hand and foot Taiyin and foot Jueyin meridians. It is prepared by boiling in vinegar. From the Ipmun.
