蜜酒 Kkulsul (꿀술)

Milju is wine brewed from honey. Honey thinned with water ferments in place of grain, which puts it in the same family as Western mead. The Donguibogam lists only the name in the liquor entry of the grain section and defers the brewing method to another chapter.

  1. 補益, 療風疹. 方見雜方

    It supplements and boosts, and treats pungjin (風疹, wind rash). The formula appears in the japbang (雜方).

    HomiclubMilju is liquor fermented from honey diluted in water. It uses neither grain nor nuruk, relying on the sugars of the honey alone; Western mead belongs to the same family.
