子 Bangpung Ssi (방풍 씨)
This is the seed of bangpung (siler, Saposhnikovia divaricata). The original text notes that it resembles coriander seed (hosu, 胡荽) but is larger, and that it was added to food as a flavoring. This is fitting: bangpung belongs to the umbellifer family (Apiaceae), whose seeds are often strongly aromatic — coriander seed and fennel are familiar examples of umbellifer seeds used as spices. Dongui Bogam places this seed as the final sub-entry under bangpung.

似胡荽而大. 調食用之. 香而療風更優也. 《本草》
It resembles coriander seed but is larger. It is used to season food. It is fragrant, and for addressing wind it is better still. 《Boncho (本草)》
HomiclubCoriander is the same herb now scattered over salads and noodle soups, and it belongs to the same umbellifer family as bangpung. It is coriander seed that the text uses as its yardstick for shape.
