黃蘗 Hwangbyeongnamu Kkeopjil (황벽나무 껍질)
Hwangbyeok is the inner bark of the Amur cork tree. Strip the rough outer layer and a vivid yellow shows beneath — hence its other name, hwangbaek — and that yellow has long been used to dye paper and cloth. The bark was peeled in early summer and sun-dried.
