棗葉 Daechunamu Ip (대추나무 잎)

Joyeop is the leaf of the jujube tree, a part-entry under the jujube in the Fruit section. The record says it was ground to powder and taken, or pressed for juice and rubbed on prickly heat. Today only the fruit is gathered; the leaves go unused.

  1. 爲末服, 使人瘦. 取汁揩熱疿瘡, 良. 《本草》

    Ground to powder and taken, it makes a person lean. Its juice, pressed out and rubbed on hot prickly-heat sores, is good. 《Boncho (本草)》

    HomiclubJoyeop is the leaf of the jujube tree. Jujube leaves are small and oval with a glossy surface and three prominent veins, enough to identify the tree by leaf alone. Today only the fruit is harvested from jujube trees.
